The graffiti made by JamesTop and the song lyrics by American rapper Kanye West both share in common this notion of new age art forms. For years graffiti was condoned (still is) and so was rapping or hip/hop. But now they both seem to be emerging as art forms that shape culture today. I chose these two things because they don't necesarily relate to any book in our curriculum but lyrics are poetry and graffiti is youths art form. I thought that as a currator these two very important cultural additions needed to be shown.
